Malawi is one of the smallest countries in the Southern tip of Africa. Like many underdeveloped countries, it lacks basic resources for everyday life. Clean water is the most important resource needed in Malawi.
This nationwide issue has left more than half the population without basic hygiene essentials such as toilets and drinking water. Currently, one in three people do not have access to clean water and more than half the population is living without a working toilet. These frightening realities and challenges are, unfortunately, the everyday lives for over 13 million people in Malawi, according to wateraid.org.
In 2015, Malawi experienced many episodes of flooding which contaminated the, already, scarce water supply. The lasting effects of this pollution has killed up to 30,000 people yearly, with an average 1,500 of those deaths being children.
On behalf of SAFI (The School of Agriculture for Family Independence), the Nu Skin Force for Good Foundation will help raise funds to provide these communities with water wells that will provide access to clean, life-saving water. We are confident these wells will improve peoples’ way of life and provide them with hope for the future, one drop of clean water at a time.
We have already helped provide sixty water wells and hope to provide them with many more! Our mission to be a Force for Good starts in the smallest of ways. While gallons of water might not seem like much, for the people in Malawi, it makes all the difference. If you want to help, consider donating. Even the smallest amount can make the biggest differences when they are given with love and a heart that wants to help.
